Scientific name Penaeus monodon. Black Tiger Shrimp have a firm texture and a clean – somewhat sweet flavour. Those raised in farms – with lower salinity in the water – tend to be a bit milder than ocean-caught Shrimp. When cooked, meat turns white and their black stripes turn bright red.
Scientific name Penaeus semisulcatus. In many country cat tiger shrimp is called as flower shrimp. Cat tiger’s meat is firm and fairly mild. When cooked it gives beautiful red color. In most country it is known as salad shrimp or cocktail shrimp. For the food service industry the product become one of the unique of its own.
Scientific name Penaeus Indicus. Often called Banana Shrimp. Chaka shrimp has a sweet, mild flavor, low to medium oiliness and moist flesh with a medium texture. Flesh is translucent when raw and white with pinkish bands when cooked.
Scientific name is Macrobrachium rosenbergii. Also known as the giant river prawn, giant freshwater prawn or scampi. It is one of the world’s most delicious, mostly farm raised shrimp is meaty, moderately tender, light colored and has a more pronounced flavor than other species.
Scientific name is Metapenaeus monoceros. Size is medium. Harina shrimp make up an important portion of crustaceans, which have an important commercial value in aquaculture industry. This shrimp is meaty, firm textured and mild in flavor.
Scientific name Litopenaeus vannamei. Often it is called white leg shrimp. Vannamei shrimp have a sweet taste and a firm structure, and are a rich source of protein. They are grayish white and turn pink when cooked. The taste of this product is pure. It’s natural mild-sweet flavour and firm texture makes it an ideal addition to stir-fries and curries.
Salmon (genus Oncorhynchus) born in fresh water, migrate to the ocean, then return to fresh water to reproduce. Salmon is an excellent source of high-quality protein, vitamins and minerals but it is their content of omega-3 fatty acids that receives the most attention.
